Meal Plans

If I want to grab lunch from the Vassar Express, will the meal equivalency come from my Dining Bucks or be used as a “meal” from my ACDC plan?

When using Express lunch, one meal will be deducted from the number of meals in your plan.

If I run out of meals and want to purchase a Block Meal Plan, how much will that cost?

Block Meal Plans are available for $12.50 a meal which can be purchased in any quantity with a ten meal minimum.

Can I give away or sell my meals to another student?

No. The meal plans are constructed in such a way as to allow students to buy in at the level they need. If, after the first year, a student has extra meals, then a smaller meal plan should be utilized.

Can I sell my guest meals to another student?

No. Guest meals are intended for you or your guests and cannot be transferred or sold to another student.

Will my unused regular or guest meals roll over from the fall to the spring semester?

No, regular and guest meals do not roll over from fall to spring semester.

Do Dining Bucks roll over from fall to spring semester?

Yes, Dining Bucks rollover from fall to spring semester. At the end of the spring semester, you will lose any unused Dining Bucks.

When can I start using my meal plan for the semester?

You can start using your meal plan on Monday, August 24, 2015.

If I want to change my meal plan for the fall semester of 2015, what date must I do that by?

September 18th, 2015 is the deadline for students who wish to change their meal plan. To do so, please contact reslife@vassar.edu and be sure to include your id number.

If I want to grab a banana and a cup of coffee, for breakfast, would you recommend that I use my Dining Bucks for this?

How you use your Dining Bucks will depend upon a few factors. If it is early in the semester and you have a lot of Dining Bucks, use your Dining Bucks. If it is later in the semester and you have a lot of meals, use a meal. All your Dining Bucks decisions will depend upon your eating habits and how many Bucks and meals you have available.

Will there be a discount if I buy a large number of Dining Bucks?

No, with the board plan, 1 Dining Buck is the equivalent to $1.00.

What if I am not on the meal plan and want to eat in ACDC?

You can pay the walk in rate of $10.50 for breakfast, $12.50for lunch or $14.50 for dinner. Cash, Vcash and credit cards are accepted.
